Social Enterprise Nigeria (SEN) is a new consultancy grouping comprising expert consultants from Nigeria supported by international consultancy resources. Our aim is to work in support of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and other organisations operating in the "third sector" (including cooperatives, community groups, trade unions, think tanks, etc). The consultancy support available is aimed to increase the operating capabilities and the internal capacity of these organisations in fulfilling their objectives and mandates.
In the establishment of a vibrant civil society, a necessary element in the process of development and increasing democratisation, third sector organisations have an important role to play. They may enable the mobilisation of human and physical resources to meet the aspirations of various layers of the population.
However, third sector organisations are often, because of their intrinsic nature, disadvantaged in relationship to either governmental bodies (MDAs) or the more organised company and firm sector of the economy and society. They are not necessarily equipped to organise or articulate their interests in a manner that allows them (and their membership) to achieve their full potential.
Social Enterprise Nigeria (SEN) aims to assist in bridging this knowledge and skills gap by utilising well tried and tested models, suitably adapted to the Nigerian context, to equip third sector organisations to operate effectively and efficiently.
Social Enterprise Nigeria (SEN) will have an advisory board that sets the broad strategic direction for its activities.
There will be a management board made up of Nigerian based consultants and a Social Enterprise Europe Director
There will a pool of consultants made up of Nigerian based experts, Social Enterprise Europe consultants and Associates and consultants from partner organisations in Europe including Poland
Social Enterprise Nigeria will have full access to all Social Enterprise Europe's common training materials, guides and toolkits through a social licence agreement.
