On the 18th of November at a high profile event in Jakarta, a cheque for £230,000 was handed over to representatives from the British Council, Social Enterprise Europe Ltd and local partners to launch the community entrepreneurs programme in Indonesia.
The fund will be rolled out as funding for development of established six community entrepreneurs, and twenty new entrepreneurships. The program hopes to help 25,000 entrepreneurs directly, and 2.5 million of their communities indirectly.
Other supports in the forms of training, marketing and guidance are also given to ensure that entrepreneurs would be able to conduct and approach businesses innovatively.
Not the less important, this program can also renew business norms.
Social Entrepreneurs Investment Fund (Dana Investasi Wirausahawan Sosial) needs new parameters to measure success.
